Dear Supporter,

"And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us." (Acts 16:9)

 We do believe that God has called us to come alongside of our brothers and sisters in Africa to encourage them in the work of evangelism.  One of the ways we bring encouragement to our village churches is by helping them to put a roof on their church buildings.

As I have reported to you in the past that each of our local churches take care of their own pastors. The exception is new churches that we support for the first two years.   We also made a commitment to help with the construction of their church building, which is capital intensive.

However, they have the initial responsibility for building the walls.  In many cases after raising the walls of their church building it sits there for years because of lack of money.  And what an encouragement it is for them when we step in to help them with the roof.  So far, we have been able to help put a roof on one church building a year for the past two years. 

Roofing one church building a year gives us the opportunity to focus on other projects such as the Children's Home, War on AIDS, Family Outreach for widows, and orphans.  Funds are the controlling factor, we can only bite off what we can chew.  You have come alongside of us to help accomplish these goals through your giving.  We are grateful!

In our recent trip to Nigeria, we selected Otukpo church as our 2005 project.  Their church building is a little bigger than the one we did last year.  According to the budget that was drawn by the building committee, it will take Five thousand dollars ($5,000) to put a roof on it. 

We are sending you this letter to ask you to help us with this need.  You have shown love for Nigeria in your past contributions.  We can't tell you enough of how encouraging your gifts have been to us.  Thank you for what you have done in the past.
