January 2006

Dear Friend of Nigeria,

I want to thank you for all you have done in the name of Jesus Christ to support our ministry in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Indeed, it is a privilege to work with God in restoring men and women to the image of God.  There is none like Jesus, first missionary ever, who paid the price and initiated the reconciliation process between God and man.  We are just following His foot steps.  Thank You for partnering with us.

The year 2005 started on a glorious note and all through the year it was one level of accomplishment after another.  I know that whatever success we had was neither by might, skill, nor expertise but by HIS Spirit.  God enabled us to do all things through Christ (Phil.4:13).

The War on AIDS Program was launched, with a huge success that far exceeded our expectation.  As of December 2005, we have visited 19 secondary schools of Benue State?Nigeria. We shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with the message of abstinence and distributed over 15,000 copies of the HIV/AIDS educational booklet to the students.

A new church was planted in Makurdi, the capital of Benue state.  The church began in February 2005 with 7 people, consisting mainly of the pastor and his family, but as of December the church has grown to over 100 people.

We conducted a Minister's Conference, a Christian Worker's Seminar and two evangelistic meetings with testimonies following all through the year.  Many (Pastors and Christian Workers) were blessed.

Through the Family Outreach Program, we ministered to eleven families including widows who received financial assistance to start a small business, and children who received scholarships.  These families expressed appreciation for the help they received.

Right now the wall of the second floor of the Children's Home is completed.  We have some rods, though not enough, for the decking of the second floor. We can't wait to finish this home!

There were other things including evangelism, counseling of AIDS victims, teaching, roofing a village church, pastors training, and many more that I can not write in detail.  In all, God was our strength, and you partnered with us to make it all possible through your financial contributions.   May God bless you!

Here are the projects we are looking at this year.

  1. Taking the message of abstinence and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Gboko and Otukpo Local Government Areas of Benue State of Nigeria. The number of secondary schools in Gboko is 20 with an enrollment figure of 17,812 students. The total number of schools in Otukpo is 25 with student population of 13,904 bringing a combined student population of 31,716.  This is more than double what we did last year.  I know we can do it through Christ who strengthens us.

  1. We will be printing over thirty-one thousand copies of the HIV/AIDS booklets in addition to other costs associated with the War on AIDS program.

  1. Completing the second floor of the Children's Home.  This project has taken longer than expected.  We are building as the Lord provides and are convinced that this ministry will provide for millions of orphans who are waiting to be rescued.  If we do nothing, these precious children will face pain, starvation, and possibly death.

  1. Conducting a two day leadership conference.  Our pastors and Christian workers are in need of constant leadership training.  We will continue with this program this year.

  1. Providing more orphans and needy children with scholarships.  This is a program that provides opportunity for orphans to go to school when a widowed mother is not able to provide it for them.  What a blessing it is for a needy child, and an encouragement for a widow.

We need your help more than ever to be able to reach these goals.  These goals are simple, specific and reachable.  Thousands of students, hundreds of pastors and Christian workers, thousands of orphans are depending on us.

As you give to the work of God this year, believe with me for widows and orphans to be encouraged, many people to be saved and delivered from the hand of the enemy.  Jesus came to set all men free.

Your support enables us to further our outreach to the needy children.    I am asking you to kindly send your most generous gift to enable us to begin the year right.  You can specify how you would like your gift to be used.  Your gift can really make the difference between life and death for some of God's little people.  Even a little each month will go a long way.

Please use the enclosed response form and self-addressed envelope to rush your best gift.   And please back it up with your prayers.  May God bless you richly as you share His love and blessings.

Thank you for your support,

Yours in His Service,

David C. Akaji

Vice President for the Africa Region
