SOCIAL EVENT AT ATLANTIC WESLEYAN COLLEGE
The highlight of the week for the staff and students was the social event on Friday 27.It was an entire day affair. It began with music, opening prayer, and short speeches. Then the students participated in poetry, quizzes, tug of war, volley ball, and soccer matches among various classes and teachers. It was a fun day for all.
CHURCH CLINIC
I am thrilled to report to you that our little, inadequately equipped clinic which I dedicated and opened just 14 months ago is making a big impact in the Okpafulo village.Joy Adagba, the nurse-in-charge happily informed me that since the opening they have had 62 births, 40 circumcisions, 6 surgeries, many accident victims, blood transfusions, and HIV tests.I am very impressed!!This is the only clinic in this village and we want to equip it to adequately provide for the health needs of this area.Would you please let us know if you are aware of any medical doctor who would like to give 3 days or a week in the village doing medical ministry for the people?
LAND FOR THE MINISTRY
For a few months now we have been praying and raising funds to purchase a piece of land to establish the ministry. We saw many properties which were out of our price range. When we finally saw one that was more reasonably priced, we did not have the money needed to pay for it.So I wrote letters, called people and made presentations to churches.Thank God, we were able to raise the $8,000.00 needed for the land.
I am happy to inform you that on January 23, 2009 the documents for the property were signed and ownership was transferred to our ministry.HALLELUJAH!!!He has done it again.
One of the highlights of this trip is for me to personally dedicate the land and break the ground for construction, to the glory of God.I am happy.God has done it!!!
On this land we will have our War on AIDS counseling center, a local church, and a primary school.
Thank you for your prayers and giving.Your support has helped to keep us encouraged as we plough through the harvest field of Africa.May God bless you richly.
Just as planned, the team members were engaged in different activities including; preaching at local churches, teaching classes, leading small groups, counseling, board meetings, and improving the campus. It is all about the Great Commission, aimed at winning the people of Africa to Christ.
Every day was designed to give team members opportunities to have a personal touch with the students. This was done in a group setting such as in chapel and in the classroom. It was also done one on one in counseling setting. Click on Ghana Wrap to read reflections from team member
