African Fall Trip Report

October/November 2007

Dear Friend of Missions

Obedience to the call and vision of God has no substitute!

I just returned from a trip that I almost cancelled.  I faced challenges on many fronts?lack of funds, attacks on the team members, and many more.  We made the trip because we made up our minds that no matter the cost, we would not disappoint the people of Africa.

I am back to say that God gave us VICTORY in all aspects of the ministry?Leadership Conferences, student's meetings, worship services, counseling, Board meetings, and prayers with seekers after His grace.

I couldn't help but shed tears of joy as I watched the participants troop in for the meetings, take notes, ask questions, and worship together.  As I sensed the anointing and the activated presence of the Almighty, I said "God, I don't understand what you're doing, but I am glad to be obedient."  We received testimony after testimony of how God blessed and enriched the lives of individuals who attended the meetings.

I shared with you my passion for the Leadership Conference in my August letter.  I wrote,

"It is important that preachers be properly prepared because they are daily involved with an eternal responsibility; working with God in restoring men and women to the original image of God.  If the Church is to ever succeed in producing preachers who fight effectively against the massive attacks of the enemy upon the moral standards of the people and the nation, the need for leadership training cannot be overemphasized.

The importance of leadership conferences is obvious, especially in nations where theological education is almost non-existent.  Everywhere you turn in the far corners of the Church world, you will certainly see the need.  It is one thing to acknowledge the need and another thing to take action to face it squarely."

Altogether, we ministered to over 375 pastors and teachers in Nigeria and Ghana, excluding hundreds that were in attendance in the church services.  The people listened well, took notes and asked meaningful questions.  They requested that we do this again and again.

By God's grace I am committed to continue to bring biblical teaching to help equip our preachers and teachers of Africa, particularly in Nigeria, Ghana, and Cameroon.

If you have a heart for this kind of ministry, please call or write to me.  I will be happy to work with you in preparing for the next trip.

Worship services were exceptional!

I had the honor and privilege of talking to the villagers about the Great Physician and praying a prayer of dedication to mark the opening of God's Care Clinic in Okpafulo.  The community leaders expressed their appreciation for what the mission is doing in their land.  The clinic will be a means to minister to the physical needs of the people in the community as well as pointing them to Christ, the Great Physician, for both physical and spiritual needs.

Also, we were invited to participate in a naming ceremony for. ?Success Ekpegi Aji.'  It was quite an experience.  A Brother and Sister had been married for a long time without a child.  They met with the pastor and expressed their need, and the pastor prayed for them.  Later that year the Sister conceived and had a baby boy, so the parents used the naming ceremony as an opportunity to share their testimony to the invited neighbors.  The pastor preached the word of God to the people and Dr. Kilpatrick and I had the privilege of dedicating the baby, ?Success Aji'  to God in prayer.

We were invited to a Christian Radio Talk Show by Dr. Prince Ebgene, who is a pastor and the Host of the Radio Program, to share more on the topic of our Leadership Conference; "God's Design for Multiplication."  Dr. Egbene had attended our full day Leadership Conference and felt that the message needed to be heard by a larger audience.  So, we went to the studio and produced two programs which will be aired in four days.

I want to say again, thank you for your support of this ministry.  I am on a mission given by God.  I am encouraging you to continue to support this work.  It is a Great Work!  If you have the time, I invite you to go with me on one of these trips.  I guarantee you; your impression of foreign missions will change forever.

We need monthly support to cover our budget of over $4,000.00.  Please do what you can no matter how big or small it may be.  God will multiply it!

Would you help with this burden this month by making a generous donation?  Please use the enclosed response form and self-addressed envelope to rush your best gift.  And please back it up with your prayers.  May God bless you richly as you share His love and blessings!

 Thank you for your support,

Yours in His Service,

David C. Akaji
